Sausage Crostini with Cheese and Asparagus

The sausage crostini was my favorite breakfast when I was in high school. Was it the delicious browned bites or the memories of cafeteria breaks, laughing and chatting with my friends or it was the name of the crostini – Principessa… For this version I decided to add asparagus.

1/2 lbs Italian sweet sausage
¾ cup (1/4 lbs)gruyere cheese, shredded
½ cup ( ¼ lbs) gruyere Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
1 egg, lightly beaten
1tbls finely chopped parsley
8 asparagus
Rustic bread, cut into ¾” slices
